Finally went out for a little walk around Palic. The Sun setting so early still pisses me off, but I can’t do anything about that. Lots of smoke though, especially after Sunset. Coal- and wood-burning are still the overwhelming majority when it comes to heating, so every day after people get home from work the city gets clouded over with smoke.
Some other news: I’m selling the Sony camera with the 50mm f/1.4 lens and the speed booster. It’s very good when used properly, but there’s a very annoying property of the camera. Its display shows the images way brighter, than what Lightroom sees. That means every single image has to be boosted up quite far and since the sensor is not the best, the picture gets noisy very fast. I just don’t have the same problem with the Nikon.
On the Nikon though, I started to appreciate the optical stabilization of the kit lens and the incredible flexibility of the sensor. It produces far more usable images than I remembered, especially at very low shutter speeds (some examples here). I’m in the market for a Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 for more and constant light, but that’s only for when the Sony goes through.
PS: I made it so the gallery viewer now shows available EXIF data on the pictures.
